Author Guidelines

Manuscript Format

Final presentation will be done by the editorial team, so your keep your submission format as simple as possible.

Text should be double spaced, left justified, without paragraph indenting, Times Roman 12 point font. Margins are 2.5cm top, bottom, left, and right, page size A4, pages numbered.

Avoid footnotes. Place diagrams and images appropriately within the text.

References must be in 'Harvard" or 'MIS Quarterly' style:
In the text as

Smith (1970) or Smith (1970, p120).

In the Refrences as

Smith, X.Y. (1970) Advanced Accounting, Cobb Publishing Co, Sydney.

Smith, X.Y. & Smyth, A.B. (1970) "The Current Cost Controversy - Again", Journal of the New School, Vol 1 No 3, pp 10-32.

The length of the manuscript should be commensurate with content, but should not exceed 30 pages (double spaced, including tables and diagrams, but not including abstract and references). Where manuscripts exceed 30 pages justification needs to be made to the editor.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Open Document Text (ODT), Microsoft Word or RTF document file format.
  3. When available, the URLs to access references online are provided, including those for open access versions of the reference. The URLs are ready to click (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca).
  4. The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review) have been followed.
